Established in 1953 as a private company, the
airline was initially 50 per cent owned by the Kuwaiti government. In 1962, the
government assumed 100 per cent ownership, making it the longest serving,
official state carrier operating from the Arabian Gulf Region. Kuwait
Airways employs over 4,800 people, and the head office is in the heart of
Kuwait City, close to Kuwait International Airport (KWI).
The airline currently provides regular scheduled services to 36 international
destinations in the Far East, Middle East, Europe and North America.
Kuwait Airways’ fleet of 23 aircraft currently consists of 5 x B777-300ER, 7 x
A320-200CEO (completed delivery Q2 2015), 5 x A330s (completed delivery Q4
2015), 4 x A340-300, 9 x Boeing 777-200, and 1 x Boeing 747-400. Kuwait

Kuwait Airways is recruiting for the role of [Communications Manager Network]. In this role, your tasks will
include but not be limited to:
Supervises the activities of assigned personnel. Performs supervisory duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by Management.
Directs and supervises the operation and maintenance of data communications exchange and data processing for such areas as message switching, telephone lines, reservation and other systems requiring link up with KAC mainframes through LAN facilities utilizing numerous systems.
Ensures constant attendance and monitoring of all LAN/WAN lines. Includes assigning shift duties and directing the monitoring of panels for malfunction alerts. Directs and supervises re-establishment of lines through fault finding and corrective action, such as switching or rerouting lines, repair of modems/concentrators or liaison with appropriate technical personnel, such as line control, technical assistance sub-section, and/or contract maintenance engineers as appropriate. Directs the use of test equipment such as data scopes, transmission test sets, oscilloscopes and line testers to find and isolate faults.
Provides a help desk facility as the first point of contact in case communication failures or problems. Includes receiving requests, analyzing problems, ascertaining best available solutions and implementing corrective measures, through the central help desk function in the Department.
Bachelors degree in Communications Engineering.
10 years' experience in data communications engineering and control and having led at least 3 projects.
