1. Basic Function and Scope: .
Coordinates and directs the activities pertaining to Cases and Investigation, Disputes, Legal Opinion and Research or Contracts. Argues cases before all courts except constitutional court, prepares legal notes for all courts including appeal judgments against KAC, provides legal advice to assigned staff, carries out negotiations on behalf of the Corporation to reach amicable solution for legal disputes as well as KAC contracts and communicates with outside lawyers in Kuwait or outstations to monitor and follow up on related cases . 2. Tasks and Duties: . a. Supervises the activities of personnel relating to assigned Legal Group work. Performs supervisory duties at the level established by management for the position .
b. Argues cases before all courts except constitutional court. Includes studying point of disputes involved in such cases, evaluating the Corporation's legal situation, indicating the points which enhance KAC position, preparing legal briefs, notes and/or arguments and following up until the issue of related court decision .
c. Prepares legal notes to appeal judgements against KAC. Includes studying legal defects of such judgements, determining appropriate legal measures and precedents to attack the same to be reversed in favor of the Corporation and following until the issuance of Supreme Court decision .
d. Provides legal advice to assigned staff within Legal Affairs Division. Includes discussing colleagues' legal queries, studying related supporting documents, laws, legal precedents, corporate rules and regulations, etc., and providing appropriate legal advice accordingly .
e. Carries out legal negotiations on behalf of the Corporation to reach amicable solution for legal, insurance and/or tax disputes, bilateral/collective agreements, terms and conditions of contracts, tenders pertaining to procurement/lease of aircraft’s, construction, maintenance, supply of materials, etc., and consults supervisor to make appropriate related decision .
f. Communicates with the outside lawyers either in Kuwait or outstations regarding KAC cases. Includes providing lawyers with case briefings, supporting documents for representing the Corporation before courts, monitoring and directing their representations . 3. Work Contacts: .
Frequent contacts with KAC employees at all levels to provide legal advice and receive information. Regular contacts with outside lawyers to monitor and follow up on related cases and Government Department regarding KAC legal matters . 4. Independence of Operation: .

Normally air-conditioned environment .
a. Degree in Law from a recognized University .
b. 10 years' experience in legal affairs preferably with a major airline .
c. Very good knowledge of English and Arabic.
