Kuwait Airways (KU: IATA, KAC: ICAO) is the official national carrier of the State of Kuwait. Established in 1953 as a private company, the airline was initially 50 per cent owned by the Kuwaiti government. In 1962, the government assumed 100 per cent ownership, making it the longest serving, official state carrier operating from the Arabian Gulf Region. Kuwait Airways employs over 4,800 people, and the head office is in the heart of Kuwait City, close to Kuwait International Airport (KWI). The airline currently provides regular scheduled services to 36 international destinations in the Far East, Middle East, Europe and North America. Kuwait Airways’ fleet of 23 aircraft currently consists of 5 x B777-300ER, 7 x A320-200CEO (completed delivery Q2 2015), 5 x A330s (completed delivery Q4 2015), 4 x A340-300, 8 x Boeing 777-200, and 1 x Boeing 747-400. Kuwait Airways will boast the youngest commercial airline fleet in the world.
In this role, you will be responsible for
ensuring that an effective Safety Management System has been developed and implemented to integrate work practices, values, and set procedures for monitoring and improving the safety and health of all aspects of Kuwait Airways Operational Departments. Additionally, the Group Leader, Safety Management is responsible for ensuring that Kuwait Airways Safety Management System Policy & Procedure in the OSPM Manual is kept up-to-date and is effective. Your tasks will include but will not be limited to:
Supervising the activities of assigned personnel in the unit, performing supervisory duties and exercising and assisting the Head of Operational Safety & ERP in the daily routine of the section.
Ensuring that the Operational Departments are compliant with Regulatory, Organizational, IOSA and Safety requirements.
Researching Regulatory, Organizational, IOSA, Human Factors and safety requirements for methods of compliance.
Ensuring top managements’ continuous commitment to Safety Management.
Ensuring a system is developed and implemented for timely reporting of hazards, occurrences, events and confidential reports and report them to the authority if required.
Ensuring that Kuwait Airways Safety Management Program, Policy and Objectives have been defined, applied, maintained and made public to all Operational Staff.
Must be licensed Engineer / Commercial Pilot License .
Must have a minimum of 14 years of experience in an Operational Department.
