Carries
out various bilingual secretarial and clerical and clerical duties in the
assigned company department or section, including answering telephone calls,
taking shorthand, typing, maintaining appointments diary, keeping and updating
files, dispatching and distributing outgoing and incoming mail, and drafting
routine correspondence.
Types a variety of material such as
memoranda, reports, circulars and telexes in English and/or Arabic from
shorthand or longhand drafts, and proofreads such material. obtains the
appropriate signatures and dispatches accordingly. Drafts letters from brief
notes or oral instructions as required.
Receives incoming
mail, sorts, registers receipt, stamps date, and distributes to addressees.
Prepares outgoing mail for dispatch and maintains daily master file of incoming
and outgoing correspondence.
Maintains and updates
a comprehensive filing system for the department or section concerned. Includes
such files as business correspondence, reports, telexes, circulars, local and
foreign addresses, business journals, periodicals and operating documents.
Requirement:
Completion of Secondary (12 years) education followed by
at least a (six months') course in stenography/ secretarial work at a
recognized institute or completion of Secondary (12years) education
followed by 2 years formal education leading to diploma in Secretarial.
Ability to use word processor in
accordance with KAC's secretarial system
Four years' experience in general secretarial
and clerical work Or 3 years' experience for
diploma education.
