Carries out various bilingual secretarial and clerical and clerical duties in the assigned KAC department or section, including answering telephone calls, taking shorthand, typing, maintaining and up dating files and records, dispatching and distributing outgoing and incoming mail.
Types in English and Arabic from shorthand or longhand drafts a variety of material such as memoranda, reports, circulars, action forms, and telexes, proofreads, obtains appropriate signatures and dispatches accordingly.
Receives incoming mail, sorts, registers receipt, date stamps and distributes to addressees. Prepares outgoing mail for dispatch and maintains daily master file of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Maintains and up dates a comprehensive filing system for the department or section. Includes such files as business correspondence, reports, circulars, local and foreign addresses, business journals, periodicals and operating documents
Answers the telephone, connects callers as necessary, takes and conveys messages, arranges for appointments and answers general queries.
Completion of Secondary (12 years) education followed by at least a six months' course in stenography/ secretarial work at a recognized institute or completion of Secondary (12years) education followed by 2 years formal education leading to diploma in Secretarial.
Ability to use word processor in accordance with KAC's secretarial system
1 year experience in general secretarial and clerical work Or 1 year experience for diploma education.
